Both CrossFit Kinnick and CrossFit Kinnick Ontario offer weekend classes. The schedule can be found below.
But most of you already knew that. The point of this schedule reminder isn’t workout related at all. Instead, I’m going to let you in on one of the best dieting tips out there.
In my many years CrossFitting and following the Zone Diet, nutritionally speaking, weekends have always been the trickiest to navigate. Weekends lack the structure and routine weekdays offer. It’s easy to eat right when your entire day is already set in stone. Simply stated, there just isn’t any available time to “cheat”. Weekends, however, are a completely different story.
Because weekends are so different, it’s important for them to resemble your weekdays as much as possible (minus the work, of course). And what is it that you do during the week? You WORK OUT! My most successful Zone weekends are the ones where I manage to get WODs in. In addition to adding a bit of structure to your Saturday and Sunday, workouts also help to make you feel awesome. You feel strong, you look lean, and you feel accomplished. The last thing in the world you’ll want to do is stuff your face with foods that will only take those feelings away from you.
Why The Weekends Are Important
Remember, it takes your body a good two weeks to adapt to the ways of the Zone diet, and, unfortunately, there isn’t any accumulating 14 consecutive days without also conquering 2 full weekends. The same way your fitness is going to be largely determined by your consistency in the gym, your nutrition, and the body composition results that come with it, also require consistent adherence.
If you don’t already work out on the weekends, AND you are struggling to stay on the Zone diet, consider adjusting your schedule a bit. Getting a Saturday/Sunday WOD in could be the motivation your weekend eating habits need.
