“Talent: a special ability that allows someone to do something well” (Merriam-Webster dictionary)
Let’s be honest, athletically speaking, not everyone is created equally. You know what I’m talking about. We all have that one friend that was amazingly awesome at sports back in grade school. They were head and shoulders above the rest. We thought for sure they were going to the pros. At the time, it seemed they didn’t even need to practice to get better. You were probably right, too. Boy, that was annoying.
You can reach your athletic potential too though. When comparing ourselves to said naturally athletic, childhood friends it can seem like an impossible task, but just because we’re born differently doesn’t mean we can’t even it all out somewhere down the line. One of the biggest contributors to athletic apathy in the world is the perception that certain abilities are reserved only for certain people. The truth is, people develop skills/abilities at different rates. Hard work and dedication are the great equalizers.
Below is a link to a video that everyone in the world can benefit from. Whether you’re in pursuit of physical, intellectual, or spiritual accomplishments, the answer is always dedication, hard work, and practice.
