I want to say Congrats to our rockstar athlete Veronica Bocanegra for getting her first muscle up on Monday the 18th. I quickly grabbed the camera and caught her 2nd one on video. Pretty awesome!
Whats even more awesome is the very next day was a workout involving muscle ups. It was Wall Balls and Muscle ups and Veronica did 2 muscle ups each round for 5 rounds.For those of you who have your muscle ups and remember getting your first muscle up, you know how hard it is to get those next few especially in a workout. If you don’t have your Muscle Ups and are wondering how the heck she did it, here is what it takes. In order to do a muscle up you have to be able to do a chest to bar pull up on the rings then dip out of it. So check it out, the Crossfit Kinnick Bodyweight warm up will get you prepared for the pull up side of the muscle up. Its up to you to spend time working on your ring dips. You can work on them daily, utilizing the first 10 mins of the hour before class or after class.
Veronica can do 6 ring dips in a row and has been working hard on her dips since Regionals. She went out and bought some rings that her husband Tony put up in the garage…talk about dedication! Its very simple to do, you just have to put in the time. Consistency and proper technique/range of motion. If you aren’t sure if you can do one just give it a try. If you need some help go ahead and ask one of your trainers to help you out. My question to you is…Who is next??
